Alan Griffith, an Assistant Professor of Biology, is a plant ecologist trained at The Pennsylvania State University and the University of Maryland, where he received his Ph. D. for his studies of the population ecology of rare plants. Dr. Griffith's work with rare and endangered plant species continues here, in the Biology Department of UMW. Alan teaches Plant Ecology (Biol 311), Introduction to Ecology (Biol 210), Conservation Biology and Biological Concepts (Biol 122).
