Werner Wieland is Professor of Biology and the current chair of the department. He received his doctoral degree at Auburn University for his study of competitive interactions among fishes. Dr. Wieland's current research interests are the natural history and systematics of fishes. Werner teaches Animal Ecology (Biol 322), Biology of Fishes (Biol 426), Vertebrate Zoology (Biol 425) and Biological Concepts (Biol 121 & 122).
